What is Nitrox? Everything you should know
Online - December 9th, 7-8pm

Who would know better than a diver who has over 6 decades of diving experience. Perhaps this presentation should be called 'How to dive after 75! Doug DeProy is a model example of how divers can remain active and healthy diving well into their 80's and he's with us to help explain why Nitrox plays such an important part of diving longevity. Having had the fortune of helping usher Nitrox into this country as National Director of IANTD Canada, I can tell you we have come a long way. Yet there is so much the majority of divers don't know and you would be surprised. This dynamic presentation covers the history and value of Nitrox and other related technologies and why you should be adopting them! So many people have no idea how important Nitrox is when it comes to diver safety and why everyone should be diving it. Nitrox is not a specialty course - it is a fundamental and essential part of diving. If you are not diving it you should be and this session will explain why. This event is free but you need to register. Click here to sign-up to this online virtual event.

What is Technical Diving - Curious?
Online - January 13th, 7pm

We will be joined by technical diving pioneer Michael Menduno. That's right, M2 himself will be broadcasting with me and ready to regale us with how it really was. Michael is an award-winning journalist, technologist and the person who actually coined the term 'Technical Diving'. More importantly, he helped chair the think tank of pioneers responsible for ushering in technical diving standards. In the 'old days' we were thought of as cowboys diving in the reckless and shadowy realm of scuba diving however, thanks to the efforts of people like M2, we have now earned a more credible reputation. But is not all diving technical? What makes this person a recreational diver and that person a technical diver and where did this term technical diving come from anyway? Join us we chat with one of the planet's most knowledgeable technical divers and how he helped pioneer true innovative efforts for advanced level diving and exploration. This event is free but you need to register. Click here to sign-up.
